Lent and Easter:
Use this handy Lenten Calendar for this Season of Lent. download the PDF

Students who already received their First Eucharist, should receive Penance and the Eucharist during Lent.
The sixth and eighth grades will attend the Stations of the Cross on March 26th at 7pm.
With the updated 1983 Code of Canon Law (which sets down the rules for administering  and governing the Western Church), the Easter Duty for Catholics currently is stated as an “obligation for the faithful who are already initiated (that is already baptized Catholics) to receive the Sacraments of Penance and Eucharist  during the Easter Season. In the United States, this has been defined to include the days between the first  Sunday of Lent and Trinity Sunday.” It should be noted that a parish “penance service does not satisfy the requirement for sacramental confession (CanonLaw.Info, Dr. Edward Peters).

CATECHISTS NEEDED FOR 2020-2021 FAITH FORMATION SESSION
We will be needing catechists to work with students for online faith formation. Anyone with computer skills or comfortable using the internet, please consider helping the students learn online.
There will be Zoom and online training for catechists.
It can be as simple as assigning material to children and checking to see if it is completed and correct. If you are uncomfortable holding a Zoom class occasionally, I will do that for you. The program will be user friendly. Please let me know by August 15th if you are able to help out. The Religious Education target start date is October 7th.
Please have your children continue to pray. First Holy Communion class practice your Act of Contrition and First Reconciliation process.

Everyone stay safe and put your safety and health in the hands of the Lord.
Parents please check out***DIGITAL GOSPEL WEEKLIES/SUMMER FAMILY CORNERS/PARENT SCRIPT on this link:

Please note: that Religious Education begins in the First Grade.  Preparation for First Holy Communion begins in the First Grade.  Preparation for Confirmation is a continual religious education from Third grade through Eighth Grade.  It is not allowed to sign up for either sacrament the year the sacrament is being administered.
