FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT
The Perfect Game In 1957 Mexico, a group of poor boys discover a baseball in the dirt and take it as a sign to pursue their dream of playing organized baseball. With the encouragement of their local priest and the reluctant coaching of César, a former Cardinals clubhouse attendant, the boys form the city’s first Little League team. Despite never having owned proper baseball equipment and having no proper field to practice on, the boys rely on César’s knowledge of the game and their own determination. After earning their Little League charter, they set off for their first tournament in Texas with only three-day visas, expecting to lose and return home quickly. Based on the true story of the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series championship (and, to date, play the only perfect game in an LLWS championship), The Perfect Game offers an inspiring underdog tale that celebrates perseverance while exploring how lessons in baseball can apply to other areas of life, from family relationships to dealing with prejudice. The film also features a refreshing portrayal of faith, such as how the boys keep perspective on their success by insisting on prayer before each game. Rated PG and family friendly. FROM THE FIELD

The Jordan Peterson Effect The "Jordan Peterson effect" refers to the impact of Dr. Jordan Peterson's teachings on teenagers, particularly his emphasis on personal responsibility, resilience, and the importance of facing life's challenges head-on. His work, including books like "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos", has resonated with many young people, offering them practical advice and a framework for navigating the complexities of modern life. For teenagers, embracing Peterson's principles can lead to increased self-confidence, improved mental health, and a stronger sense of purpose. His teachings encourage teens to take control of their lives, develop discipline, and cultivate a mindset of growth and self-improvement. The Meteoric Rise of Professor Jordan Peterson This article explores why Dr. Peterson helps remove a false "political-correctness" from psychology which frees it up to speak truth to those in need. While Peterson's work is not rooted in Catholcism, it is a catalyst for us to begin speaking truth in charity once more.
Embracing Responsibility as the Key to Self-Improvement We are all made to bear responibly the gift of our lives. Our culture is starving for a genuine understanding of responsibility. Jordan Peterson's work has helped us to be open again to this need.
